Katana, Sukenao, 1803, 25 inches,
The blade is signed Yokoyama Gengoro Fujiwara Sukenao on omote side
and Kyowa ni nen hachi gatsu hi on the ura side.
Sukenao was the younger brother of Bizen Kuni Osafune ju Fujiwara Sukehira.
Sukehira was the 5th generation after Sazaemon Sukesada.
The blade has a midare suguha hamon with itame hada.
There are a couple of small nicks that will have to be dealt with by a polisher.
The blade comes in Army 1886 pattern Company Officers grade kyu-gunto with a silver foil habaki.
The saya is protected in a brown leather combat cover. The sword was judged and has papers at 73 points.
The papers attest to the validity of the signature and the quality of the blade.
